![]() ![]() Here's everything known so far about what's next for Valve's Half-Life. ![]() The big question, though, is whether the next Half-Life game will be another spin-off, such as a Half-Life: Alyx 2, or a more direct sequel to the mainline story. Valve's debut title wins more than 50 game-of-the-year awards on its way to being named 'Best PC Game Ever' by PC Gamer, and launches a franchise with more than eight million retail units sold worldwide. It still deals with story beats further in the future, however, leaving things open for new games in the Half-Life series. HALF-LIFE sends a shock through the game industry with its combination of pounding action and continuous, immersive storytelling. Rather than being a true sequel to Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Half-Life: Alyx takes place between Half-Life and Half-Life 2. The question is whether the next game in the franchise will be Half-Life: Alyx 2 or the long-awaited Half-Life 3. Longtime fans may have been worried for the franchise's future after a high-cost, VR-only entry, but Half-Life: Alyx's ending shows Valve isn't done making Half-Life games.
